Within the project ((Supporting children in conflict with the law through a preventive and functional system in Iraq)) the Al-Taqwa Association for Women and Children’s Rights, with the support of Save the Children, visited the juveniles released by the association’s lawyer for accusing them of legal violations and released them from the Basra Central Prison and the Central Prison Center. Al-Maqal was detained and they were provided with psychological support and case management by the specialized staff of Al-Taqwa Association, after which their needs were identified and the first need was taken to open a door to livelihood for them in their various areas, including the center of Basra Governorate, Abu Al-Khasib District, Al-Hartha District, and Shatt Al-Arab, where they were each equipped according to their desire to work from the choice of their project. These simple income-generating projects include (shaving, machines selling sunflower seeds, popcorn, and cherries, and a small restaurant selling fast food). These materials are a source of livelihood for them and their families, provided that the event is carried out in the company of their parents in order to ensure that they do not return to crime again and are integrated into society.
